My name is Akiko. I’m a first time mom to an amazing little monchichi, Baby E. Here we are taking a selfie. Pro tip: nothing stops a baby from crying (and start smiling) better than a selfie!  

I’ve spent majority of my career in public relations. I love writing, talking, and “spreading the word” so PR has always been my jam. Above all though, I love helping a sista’ out, which is why I decided to start this blog. I’m no professional parent (if only there was such a thing), but I am real, first-time mom who’s just trying to figure all this out…so why not share our stories, tips, highs and lows!

In addition to posts about the trials and tribulations of being a mom, I also write about maternity leave benefits in California. I had such a difficult time finding easy-to-understand info on the laws while I was pregnant that I became a bit obsessed with it. I’ll scour the depths of the internet to find relevant and helpful information, so that you don’t have to! As if you’re not already busy with being pregnant!
